5 Tips for Choosing a Niche
Choosing a profitable niche is the first step to making good money online. If the niche you choose is not profitable, or if you don’t have the resources to compete, chances are you will not make money. Before creating websites and driving traffic, find a profitable niche!
Here are a few simple tips to consider while choosing a niche:
- Create a list of possible niches before making up your mind. That way you don’t overlook the best opportunities
- Choose a niche based on a passion you have, or something you are very knowledgeable with
- Be very specific when choosing a niche. “Hamsters” is still a relatively large niche. Try “How to clean hamsters without killing them” (yeah, they are pretty feeble), or “How to dress your hamster like a cheerleader” (ok, maybe not that)…
- Research those niches using the keywords of the niches. Pay particularly good attention to the keywords your competitors are using. I use PPC Web Spy to do that research, as it is a very simple and effective keyword research tool.
- After writing a list of niches, rate them based on the points above. If you know a lot about it and specific niches are not very competitive, you should give it a higher rating as you have a much better chance of profit from it.
How Do I Look for Niches
For niche ideas, I check out Daily Niche Idea. This is a free membership site that gives you new profitable niche ideas every day. You can also share this website with your list and make money.
Another tool to consider is called Micro Niche Finder. This tool is very handy to help you find niche markets that are clearly profitable but haven’t been tapped yet. I strongly recommend this tool in your research!
I hope this was useful for you. Please leave me some feedback on whether this was helpful, any questions you have and what you would like to read about in the future.
Cheers!
